Employee will plan, design, build and integrate mechanical and hydraulic systems of new CNC forming and milling machines. Job duties related to mechanical system development will include designing machine components for meeting accuracy, strength, deflection, and life, using mechanics, dynamics, and finite element analysis; improve existing electro-mechanical machine components by modifying them; and building new components and systems by developing machining plans, setups, and programs for CNC machines, machining the parts, and inspecting them. Machine shop experience with MasterCAM programming, and setting up and safe operation of CNC mills and lathes is necessary to make these machine components. Job duties related to hydraulic systems include the design of modular hydraulic circuits to meet requirements for dynamic control of pressure and/or flow, and immunity from noise.  Employee will also be responsible for developing quality assurance test procedures for the integration of components, integrating developed mechanical and hydraulic systems into the machines, and successfully troubleshooting problems. These require knowledge in applied hydraulics, as well as electrical drives and controls. Engineer will carry out installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the CNC forming equipment. Employee will also be responsible for developing control software programs for the developed CNC forming and milling machines, and operation of the company’s CNC controlled machine to form and machine metal materials to their required contours and profiles. Forming of these materials will require an understanding of material properties such as hardness, elastic modulus, stiffness, tensile strength, springback, and how each of these are affected when pulling and stretching material, and carrying out springback compensation.
