STRETCH ROLL FORMING
The economy of forming with the precision of CNC
WHAT IS SRF?
SRF is a patented, numerically controlled metal forming process for stretch forming extrusions to arbitrary geometries. SRF machines produce parts with stress residuals and geometrical accuracy comparable to those achieved by stretch bending, but yield significant cost savings as well as a number of other advantages and new capabilities compared to traditional stretch bending.

Complex Design
Because we're not stretching against a die we can produce simple or complex designs with no increased cost. Reverse curvature, variable radii, and monolithic extrusions are all possible add no additional cost compared to "easy" bends.

Improved Supply Chain
The die-less process allows us to save you time and money by forming thousands of extrusion profiles using CNC. Eliminate die design, proving, storage, and setup while expanding capacity and just-in-time capabilities.
BENEFITS

Superior Quality
Utilizing localized stretching, maximum stretch in the part is limited to around 3% compared to traditional forming which can exceed 20%. The result is considerably less residual stress, increased yield strength, and no need to over-design part size.
CAPABILITIES

APPLICATIONS

Form interior aircraft stringers in high or low volumes without tooling. Prototype parts have no additional cost compared to production parts.

AOG? No die? No problem! Support repairs of legacy aircraft without the hassle of retrieving or building old tooling.

Lower the investment required to build low-volume architectural masterpieces.

Easily create complex interior designs without excessive handworking or expensive tooling.
ABOUT
Located in Wichita, KS, Fairmount Technologies specializes in stretch forming parts without the need for custom part-specific tooling dies. We offer comprehensive stretch forming services for an unending list of extrusions, at any length, and any curvature, with minimal restrictions. We can work with a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including but not restricted to steel, aluminum, titanium and copper.
SRF technology development was supported by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and was identified as a valuable technology with potential savings of $20 million per year in production and maintenance costs.
Fairmount Technologies operates using a ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D Registered Quality Management System.
